Ordering Your Food by Mobile Phone


Mobile Phone Users - you are just a single-word text message away from ordering one of your favourite meals.
You could be anywhere, in a meeting with clients, in a wine bar, at a football match or on the way home from work, but you want a meal from one of your favourite restaurants. It could be an Italian meal, an Indian meal, a Chinese meal or whatever you fancy. Once you have saved a selection using a single word, you can order for delivery, collection or sit-down. If you have a corporate account, you can order lunch or dinner from your mobile phone and be certain that you meal will be delivered.
I Want a Takeaway Website
This system can only be used with restaurants that are using Software for Restaurants Premium or Corporate. Within the program there is a facility for customers or corporate employees to login to their personal Administration Area. In here they can browse the menus of their favourite restaurant and make and save meal selections.

An order for one person could include, a starter, an appetiser, main courses, extras, sweets etc. Each item of food, required, is selected using a tick box and entering the quantity. The "order" is saved as a single word i.e. "alvolo1a". The customer can save as many food combinations as they like for one person or several people i.e. "alvolo2b" is a meal for two people and selection "b". The text "alvolo2a" would order the first selection for two people. Furthermore you can add a "wildcard" which will select today's special. If you like Piadina then "piadina1*" would order one of today's special Piadina meals. If there is not a special that day, the order will revert to the original choice.
You are in a meeting with clients and wish to order lunch. The mobile phone text message "lunch8c" will order food, to be delivered, for eight people from your chosen restaurant and more importantly, you know it's reliable.
How does it work?
The text message is sent to a short number say "eat alvolo3c" to 83211. The service provider recognises all text messages sent to 83211 and electronically sends them to our server. This is instantaneous! The server software recognises the mobile phone number, this is the customers unique membership number. The program looks at the text message "alvolo3c" and confirms that this is a selection of food for three people for delivery from the Al Volo Restaurant. The program checks that the Al Volo restaurant is open and delivering food. Meals can be ordered for delivery, collection or sit-down. The program can automatically take a credit card payment or add the transaction to a Corporate Account. Corporate Account are invoiced weekly, fortnightly or monthly integrated with SAGE etc.
The order is automatically "sent" into the system or can be checked by the Call Handler. Once accepted, the Chef's Screen is updated with the new order, its included with the Delivery Schedule for that address, stock control is updated etc. The order is processed through the system without error. There are major advantages:
  • The order does not go through the phone system
  • The order is processed from computer to computer
  • There are no engaged phone lines and frustrated clients
  • The order cannot be taken down incorrectly
  • The order cannot be lost amongst a load of paperwork
  • The customer is pre-checked, no problems with payment
  • Voucher Schemes and Loyalty Schemes are automatically updated for the relevant customer
